When Someone Dies

When someone dies it is a very emotional and trying time for everyone. What do I do now? Who do I call?

Our service to you starts when you first contact us, whether by telephone or calling personally, and often extends long after the day of the funeral.

On initial contact we will ask for preliminary details, whether the deceased has died at home, in hospital or private nursing home and we will advise and arrange conveyance of the deceased to our private chapel of rest.

We would then arrange a suitable time and place for one of our funeral directors to discuss with you the arrangements for the funeral.

The funeral director's role is to take care of all the practical arrangements for you at a time when you are feeling most distressed. This means advising you of the options and choices for the funeral and seeing that everything is carried out in accordance with your wishes and those of the person who has died.

They will talk you through the registration of the death, what happens if the coroner becomes involved and answer any other questions you may have.

Your funeral director can also arrange any floral tributes required, flowers in church, notices in newspapers, printing of service sheets, memorial cards, acknowledgement cards, catering, grave memorials and even accommodation for relatives travelling a long distance for the funeral.

They will conduct the funeral and oversee all the arrangements, pay all the fees and disbursements on behalf of the family and if required will advise of any benefits available or sources of help to assist with the cost.

Please feel free to treat your funeral director as a friend, we are sure they will become so. Call upon them at any time for help.
